Mobile SCIP: Managing terminal mobility in heterogeneous networks with the SIP Handover Extension

چکیده
Advances in Network-centric Warfare require that speech and data must be shared among all tactical levels and across different network domains while the communication still is secured. SCIP (Secure Communications Interoperability Protocol) is an applicationlayer communication protocol designed to ensure secure end-to-end communication. When SCIP is implemented on mobile terminals operating in a heterogeneous environment, handover delays can have severe implications on the quality of service experienced by the end users. In this paper we discuss the implications of handover delays on a SCIP session. We propose the SIP Handover Extension as a means to avoid handover delays by providing seamless handover for SCIP sessions in heterogeneous networks. Implementation and testing show that a SIP user agent supporting the SIP Handover Extension can perform a seamless handover without interfering with the core functions of the SCIP

SM-SIP: Seamless Mobility Management for Heterogeneous Wireless Networks
Next-generation wireless networks (NGN) and internet of Thing (IoT) become two leaders of designing mobile multimedia services. The deployment of these services using heterogeneous wireless networks will be the important factor that leads to profound change in the way that these services are delivered. Also, how these services will be managed is a real challenge. Consequently, Seamless mobility...

The next generation wireless communication system will likely be heterogeneous networks, as various technologies can be integrated on heterogeneous networks. A mobile multiple-mode device can easily access the Internet through different wireless interfaces. The mobile multiple-mode device thus could switch to different access point to maintain the robustness of the connection when it can acquir...

Wireless technologies evolve very fast in last years. In the future operators will need to enable users to use communication's services independent from access technologies, thus they will need to support handovers between different networks. In this paper we presented simulation results for handover from WLAN network to HSDPA network and vice versa. We used IP telephony application with SIP si...

In this paper we tackle the mobility issue in IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). Although IMS was designed to integrate different access networks, mobility management among these networks is still unresolved. We propose a novel hybrid mobility management scheme, based on tight cooperation between fast handovers for mobile IPv6 (FMIPv6) and session initiation protocol (SIP) to ensure an uninterrupte...
